I would rather have Fiala than Greenway, but I’m wondering if Minnesota values him more. Also, I have my doubts that Philly would take Dumba without sending a sizable amount of payroll back in the trade.

The only problem with Fiala is that he is one year away from UFA and I think Buffalo will want a younger player with more team control and Minnesota will likely want to keep Fiala

I’m sure Buffalo retaining salary on the final two years of Dumba would not be a problem next season.

I do think Minnesota makes most sense for Eichel at this point, but as I said before there is some risk in Marco Rossi, not nearly as much as Minnesota is taking, but we don’t know how long it will take for him to get back into form. The last time he played hockey, at the World Juniors, he did not look good, so there is some concern there

I’m trying to figure out how a Minnesota deal would work, and I can see it working if Dumba is involved and a trade is in place to bring in a change of scenery candidate like Nolan Patrick and a higher draft pick.

I’m just spit ballling here, but I would probably even be ok with swapping firsts in the Dumba deal like Dumba and pick 21 for Patrick pick 14 and additional pick with retained salary if needed.

The uncertainty around Eichel Neck injury drops his trade value.. I'm sorry but thats facts and Eichel is NOT going to fetch you what a healthy Eichel would. You making trades as if Eichel is 100% healthy.

True, but the trade above is not that much and kind of reflects that. Both sides are taking risks here, Minny is taking much more.

Pretty much almost everyone expects the Sabres to get an A prospect. But Rossi still hasn’t played hockey in over a year and is coming off an illness that we have no idea how it will affect his game. Greenway is a middle six forward. Victor Rask is a negative asset and a cap dump to make money work, and the Wild will probably be at risk to lose Matt Dumba in the expansion draft and he has a no trade clause kicking in.

Plus Minnesota is not surrendering a top 20 pick.

At the end of the day, Eichel is still a top 10 player in the game and a number one center and they have a superstars player in Kaprizov who has made it known to Guerin that he is not interested in a long term deal past his 2024 UFA deal and wants to see what the Wild will do for a number one center. I expect Minnesota to be aggressive

I agree that we are not getting players like Zegras or Byfield plus twenty first rounders in return and that the return will be somewhat uncerwhelming
