So Calgary trades 2/3 of their top line RETAINED for 2 FRP and scraps

Then Seattle is so gracious to take on 10 mill of cap for a 2nd

Yeah idk what it is but this seems unrealistic

Also look at the cap hit, how are we supposed to resign Suzuki, Tkachuk and Romanov plus everyone else next season? We will have 12 Mil cap to spread over 5 players including Suzuki, Romanov, Kulak, Chiarot and Tkachuk. Yeah that is not happening

All kinds of doors open when you become a contender. Ovi doesn't care for money anymore he's made enough, now he's chasing more cups.

Why would I bring Kulak back? How much more can Romanov ask for when he's playing 3rd pairing, Chiarot might walk but Edler will still be there until Romanov is ready for top 4 action and by the time Edler is gone 1 of Struble or Guhle will be ready. Suzuki should be a sport and take an affordable bridge. We're done worrying about fitting players in under the cap in the upcoming seasons, we need to focus on the present. Just like TB is doing. Is Alzner's 2 mill cap hit included in the 12 mill?

Cause he is a solid 5-7 guy on a cheap contract and would be cheap to resign making our D depth as good as our F depth. Romy's bridge deal omes in between 1 and 1.5 Mil. Chiatot or Edler at 3.5 means you have no ca left for Suzuki or Tkachuk. Zuke like gets 6-7.5 Mil on his next contract and Tkavhuk is looking at a min 8.5 mil (actually I think his QO is 10.5 Mil). 12 Mil is directly from your thread just look at the long-term tab. Using Tampa as an example is stupid because they are currently cheating the system and I fully expect the LTIR loophole to be closed after this season.

Oh didn't realize you knew him personally my bad, you should ask him if its a good idea to trade Joel Edmundson for Eichel and a 1st

If he thinks its cool I'm sure that's a option too

I don't but he's publicly stated that if there's 1 team he'd like to play for apart from WSH, it's MTL.

We need puck moving D and Kulak is the odd man out. If Kucherov and Point took discount bridges then Suzuki should be a sport and do the same. Tkachuk QO conditions got nullified with the new CBA agreement. And if I'm not mistaking this QO conditions also get nullified if CGY traded his rights regardless if there was a new CBA or not. BTW his QO is 9 mill. As far as the loophole TB used I'm ok with it, i don't consider it cheating. And I don't think the league can change anything about it before the current CBA expires. The objective is to get better NOW cause clearly the management is going all in to get a cup/s with Price. I used to be concerned with long term cap management but now we actually have a window to be concerned about. And long term cap issues should be secondary tasks.
