Why, Because Bringing in Terivainen and Gurinov adds some nice top 6 additions, Guys who can play with Draisitl and Mcdavid, Get a nice addition like Zach Hyman (or someone similar) and the Top 6 look's better.

He took a bit of a hometown discount so that the team could build a little more. Term over $$$, with a full NMC. Gurianov for a 1st and 2nd seems a little steep to me. And I don't think CAR trades Tuevo for RNH straight up.

I did a armchair gm team asking what gurianov’s value is, was looking to see what other fans think he’s worth (because stars fans might over value players a little bit). Only responses I got (from other Stars fans) was basically “why trade Gurianov?”. I won’t get into why he’s not a great fit in Dallas right now and getting rid of one if the guys due for a new contracts the next few seasons to ensure they can still afford Robertson, Oettinger and Hintz who are all much more important to keep. Getting rid of him now while he’s on a cheap deal and his value is probably as good as it will get.

I suggested maybe he’s not worth a full on 1st but a 2nd plus a 1st that’s a bit earlier (3-5 spots) in the draft for the Stars first and Gurianov.
