Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade came from a philly ACGM, wanted to see how colorado can make it work.
From their perspective you get a top line center without losing newhook byram or any firsts for two years of a bad contract in ghost. I think they should go for it and really they just need to find new homes for compher & donny.
Trade likely to happen before the expansion draft. So i'd assume they take donny or Patrick in the expansions draft. In order to make cap work i think donny & compher have to find new homes either way.
I'd say this is probily the best case scenario.

Tend to agree with @QuackAttack. Feel like this heavily favors the Avs

I agree 100%, i don't know if the other one was a philly fan or not but i thought it was a no rbainer to take as well. Coga seemed to think this would put us into cap hell

It certainly might. I can't say I understand buried cap all that well, but I believe Ghost's $4.5m would count against the cap for the rest of his deal (two years). Pair that with a raise for Couts, Newhook, Byram, and Patrick? Might be tough.

Couturier would have to start with Byram or Newhook, and even then I don't know if that really makes sense for the Flyers

I don't claim to be an expert on it either, from the outside it looks like burrying cap maybe saves you a little bit for the season. But 2 years is not very long and he's done when we have to pay for raies on mack, newhook, byram & timmins in this scenario.
I think the main thing is we land another top center without gutting any of our top prospects or picks so i think you have to go for it.

no I didnt at all say that, I said the cap doesnt work and would have to move out other contracts to do so, ie Donskoi or Compher I said and which you had to do.
