why would njd trade 4oa when they could simply draft a better LD than dunn there

Tarasenko is not waiving for EDM, also I don't see the Oilers trading away Holloway.

If Doug managed to pull off Dunn + 16th for 4th and drafted Johnson or Guenther.. I would be so happy. Dunn is a top 4 defenseman now, any D-man they take at 4th is going to take 2-3 years to make an impact that Dunn can make right now.

There was a Devil's fan earlier who suggested it so I'm wondering if that's the basis for this trade.

I have a feeling Johnson won't be very successful in the NHL. He treats the game like its Chel, he won't get away with that in the NHL. IF the Blues got the 4th overall pick, I think there will be better talent. For instance, if Ducks decide to take Edvinsson, Blues should take Eklund.

Do you want Lambos with the 4th pick? You're 4-7 years away from knowing if he will be better than Dunn plus the trade comes with the 16th pick.

It's not just Dunn for 4th overall.

That price for Tarasenko is astronomical considering his shoulder problems. Easy pass from Edmonton.

We can draft a better defensemen than Dunn with the 4th pick. The 16th pick is decent but I much rather have the 4th pick than Dunn and 16

Edmonton is not doing that. And the Blues are not taking on Schmidt.
