Do we honestly feel like adding Hamilton is what this team was missing last year? Does his presence help them win the series against Montreal? I don't think so. I think that money needs to be spread out in the forward group to improve some depth there. Your LW's might be the worst in the NHL, Robertson being on the first line is a HUGE gamble that he likely is not ready for (seems like a bottom-6 role to start makes sense). The goaltending is terrifying here.

Signing Hamilton also mean Morgan Rielly is guaranteed out the door next year, because you can't afford to pay another big ticket on the back end. Not sure this solves any problems at all. Not a fan of the Leafs signing Dougie light.
