Scott Darling, Petr Mrazek, Cam Talbot, James Reimer, Jonathan Quick, Devan Dubnyk, Thomas Greiss, Michal Neuvirth, Martin Jones, Brayden Holtby are just some of the current goalies who've spent time in ECHL. Still has time to develop

So this is misleading. Most of the guys you listed either 1- had under 10 games in the ECHL or 2- was in the ECHL before the AHL. Much different development curve.

My point is that just because he's in the ECHL it doesn't necessarily mean all his value is gone and his career is done. He is still young and has time to find his game and work his way back up. Goalies just take longer to develop

My point is that just because he's in the ECHL it doesn't necessarily mean all his value is gone and his career is done. He is still young and has time to find his game and work his way back up. Goalies just take longer to develop


And using the ECHL as a career step is great as a build up. Most goalies don't get sent down to the ECHL from the AHL and rebound. Just doesn't happen and NHL GMs know that. So yes his value is gone.
