Going for back-to-back 1st overall picks? This team is worse than the 2016-17 Avalanche

It's not a good sign when you are openly trying to trade a guy but won't let teams see the medical charts on a guy.

Haven't picked outside of the top 8 in 9 years. Lost 2 lotteries or would have had the #1 pick 4 times. Buffalo Sabres hockey. The 2021 slogan was if you are in the building you may be the goalie tonight...

Not to be rude but isn't that the point of a rebuild? Suck alot so you can get higher draft picks?

I think Buffalo can do better than this. They are also the LAST team in the league that should be bribing Seattle, let alone give away a promising young forward who along with Reinhart actually played well last season.

There is absolutely zero reason to give away Olofsson, Seattle will take Colin Miller without being incentivized to do it. And if they need anything give them a draft pick, we have extra third rounders. Why in the hell would you hand them a guaranteed 20 goal scorer?

Yep, but I'm not sure the Pegula's would be too happy with Kevyn Adams after he's not able to fill any seats at games because this is the roster the team is fielding. He may want the best shot at 1st overall next year, but he probably wants to keep his job too. Gotta keep the owners happy to do that.

It makes 0 sense to give up Oloffson so that Seattle takes an unprotected player that isn’t a cap dump. Seattle may take Miller regardless, and if they don’t, they will take a different player I still wouldn’t give up Oloffson to keep.

Its something i will never understand, giving away olofsson for anything that isnt a first round pick. Guy scored 29 goals in his first 82 nhl games, and has scored at every level, but a team that probably wont hit 150 goals over an 82 game season, needs to give him away as a sweetener because he doesnt back check hard. So agreed, and absolutely not to seattle.

Reinhart is approximately worth a 1st round pick and a decent prospect. Minny would offer Pittsburgh's 1st and someone like Connor Dewar or maybe Alex Khovanov. That there is just a ridiculous overpay.

Olofsson is old, in respect to a young core. All he does is score on the PP and I don't want to give him a new contract after this season. He's Mike Hoffman-lite which is not favored too highly in the league.

As @EccE says, there's no chance that Minnesota trades Rossi for Reinhart even up, and I doubt that they would trade their better first for him, either, because he can force free agency in one year. The Pittsburgh pick plus a decent prospect is all Buffalo should get from the Wild.

Then put him on your first line and PP, take advantage of his scoring or TRADE him for something valuable not a giveaway. Goal scorers are valuable even if they are not good defensively.
