Offer Sheet again

Description
This is a big "what if" scenerio. Getting Seattle and Parise to accept such a deal is lynch pin number 1. Offer sheeting Pettersson and having the Canucks declining to match is lynch pin number 2. Giving up 4 1st rounders is a competitive offer (maybe to much?) in the offer sheet. But, if all of this is possible, our teams looks really nice. Although you also need to get Ek, KK, and Fiala signed to extensions, and Cole, Bonino, and Menell also signed. Buying Rask out completes everything.

Seattle picks Dumba and gets the rest with the agreement of buying out Parise's contract. This makes Parise a FA and it's why he accepts to waive NMC.

Vancouver matches that. I'd love Pettersson but I think the Canucks will do whatever it takes to keep him if he's given an offer sheet

The thing is, if you can get Seattle and Parise to accept that deal for the expansion draft. It gives the Wild the cap room to do a lot of different things. Offer sheet Pettersson, if Canucks match, you can go after Eichel. If not him there are many other alternatives with the additional cap room. Settling the expansion draft and the Parise situation would really make Guerin SMILE.

Unfortunately I think it would take at least a 1st plus Rossi or Boldy to start a conversation with Seattle taking Parise.

No it wouldn’t lol. Minnesota could buy out Parise themselves and it would open up 5 million more in cap space this season and only cost about half of what we originally have to finish paying him. Bill Guerin would never have an NHL job again if he traded Rossi or Boldy plus a 1st just so Seattle would take parise.

SEA isn't taking Parise just to buy him out. 8 years of dead cap, 3 of them are for over $6m/yr.
