Description

It's a fair assumption that the Caps aren't going to get an offer that makes a Kuznetsov trade worthwhile.

Ovi signs an identical contract to Backstrom's remaining contract. They sail off into the sunset together in four years.

Caps trade Vanecek to Toronto, protect Sprong, which will push Seattle to select Schultz (or Dillon) in the expansion draft.

I would protect TVR over Jensen. All things being equal they are pretty interchangeable talent wise, so would would be better off losing Jensen and getting a little more Cap space.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that route either. Figured Jensen over TvR because Jensen had a strong season and would be a great option to pair with Orlov if Fehervary or Dillon could slot into a pairing with Carlson and perform better.
