Retaining that much for that long in a flat cap world is something that probably won't be done especially for a team with major needs and already tight cap space

Trying to think outside the box on a Tarasenko trade. This deal saves the Flyers a year on Voracek and two years on Ghost (who was unclaimed on waivers last season).

Blues make a hockey trade and get some futures at the cap hit that Tarasenko and an extended Dunn would likely get. The amount of retention on Voracek is negotiable.

Why would we retain salary on Voracek to take on Tarasenko? One of those guys has been relevant on the ice over the last two seasons; similar term, similar money, more risk.

There's no such thing as a hockey trade where we take on Ghost.

That Vladdy deal is really intriguing. I'm leaning more towards no due to the blues having redundancy with offensive defensemen but it's not something I would be mad at. Ghost is extremely underrated, and the fact he was waived shocked me

More likely is a simple 1 for 1 of Tarasenko for Voracek. Flyers taking the gamble that Tarasenko can heal up, at least somewhat, and that the move 'shakes up' the top 6 sufficiently. Blues take the slightly bigger, slightly longer contract to get a consistent playmaker. Makes sense both ways.

Flyers will not dump Ghost as a pure salary move. Our powerplay is trash without him, in fact.
