Big Arvidsson fan, and hes on a great contract..... but to think hes worth more than a 2nd is insane.

I dont think many people have watched him last few years. Lost a significant amount of speed and has been piling up the injuries. Play of the rush was his strength in 2018, an area of his play we haven't seen in years

I don't think this deal is as much of a steal as people think.

Arvidsson has been playing at a 20G/40P pace the last two seasons, which is far from the 35G/65P player he was playing like the 3 years prior.

If Arvi gets back to that 35G/65P winger than it a great deal for LA, but if he's still playing like a 20G/40P player and sitting at a $4.25 million cap hit for 3 more years, that may not be great.

Im a bit disappointed the Preds didn't get a prospect back instead of the 3rd or 2nd even. Sadly they don't draft forwards very well and LA had done a great job picking forwards with nhl potential the last few years.

Having said that I get the bind they were in for protection and because most teams already have their protection lists petty set, it left little negotiation power for them. Hopefully they can hit on the 2nd this year. Otherwise, it won't look very good

They also drafted 2nd overall and 5th overall, so that helps lol

Players with contracts are worth virtually nothing in the dead cap era, it's so weird to see. Arvidsson is a really good 2nd line winger, but he's worth a lot less because of his contract (which is actually a good one)

I dont think his contract factored into the return. If anything, the expansion draft would be what affected the value. Contract is fine, especially for LA who arent bothered by the cap.

Even at 8-1 they had room to protect Arvidsson. Arvidsson and Forsberg were the ones 100% protected and there were 2 spots left for Duchene/Johansen/Järnkrok/Sissons/Kunin

I won't be surprised if we end up with 3-5-1 to keep Carrier and Fabbro. The 3 being Forsberg, Kunin, and Jarnkrok or Sissons. Going to be an interesting offseason.

I'm bit disappointed by this move
Arvidsson is no more the player we've seen in 2019
hope that LA haven't acquired another Andreas Johnsson from the East

Trades like these can't be fully analyzed until Nashville has used the picks, but I don't think they'll recoup a player like Arvidsson on either.

Smart move by Los Angeles, a veteran winger for their younger center core.

Considering he was a 4th round pick, I think it's more than possible.

I think this is more of a trade that is a fair deal with risks that can become a robbery, Arvidsson hasn’t been the same since those cross checks, he’s fallen off of a cliff in Nashville and I’m not going to be surprised if it transfers to LA. a 2nd and a 3rd is a robbery if he gets back to form although,

Looks like an L.A. win.

But people are over-rating this trade for the kings, it's close to fair I'd say. If It could even be a trade where, down the road, Nashville actually wins. Just wanted to say that because it happens often that the winner ends up being someone that we didn't expect.

The likelihood of getting a 2x 60 point and 2x 30 goal scorer goes down as you get deeper into the draft.

They can definitely land a roster player on both but it's less likely that player/those players have the impact Arvidsson did on Nashville.

Either way, it's definitely better than the nothing they would've gotten if Seattle took him in the expansion draft.

Arvidsson's production has been dropping off the past two seasons, looks like a classic case of a player needing a change of scenery, so getting an early 2nd round pick and a 3rd seems pretty fair.

Oh f*ck off LA, we don't need you fleecing other teams on top of coming out of a successful rebuild lol

Here are some trades where the team trading away their player got just a 2nd and a 3rd round pick back in return.

Given the circumstances in which all these trades took place ...

ask yourself this ...

How is this trade even remotely fair for Nashville??

That makes me really worried about the Buffalo Sabres in their struggle to trade Eichel.

Dear god!
