Not that the value is bad (if I’m SJS idk what I’d rather, the two picks or Wallstedt).

But idk why the Wild would ever do this. They already have a good young goalie and Wallstedt isnt NHL ready. So the Wild don’t really need to even consider trading up for goalie when they could grab some good prospects to add to their depth or use for picks for trade bait

The year that I did this for is the 2023-2024 season.

That doesn’t matter tho, why wouldn’t they just hope to hit on two young good prospects instead for 1 risky goalie (who I love don’t get me wrong) in the top 10. The Wilds timeline to win is basically this coming seasons. No need to move the picks when they could trade for upgrades or hit “twice on the Zucker trade”.

There’s literally dozens of quality upgrades out there for sale right now and Kaprizov wants a Center now.

If you have a chance to draft a franchise goalie, then I'd do it. Especially since that is the one thing that Minny needs for the future. They have a great D core, the have a future 1C in Rossi with great surrounding, young talent up front. They need a tendy of the future. Imagine trading two mid round firsts for Vasy. I'm sure every team in the league would do it. It is difficult to give up two firsts bc they could be great players, but the likelihood of Wallstedt being a star is far more likely than even one of the two mid firsts becoming a star. Also goalie is the most important position and to lock up the future in net is huge. Due of Kahkonen and Wallstedt is filthy

Nah, this isn't as enticing as you think it is.

If SJS passes on Wallstedt I’ll be super pissed dont get me wrong. There’s only 1 pick I’d be satisfied with over him which is Guenther (but even then I’m not happy).

But for the Wild there’s a lot of anonymity in this draft which is good and bad. The Wild could easily catch some fantastic prospects with both picks and even both could hit (or use them for trading for a near star player or stars like Eichel, Kuzy etc for Kaprizov). If Kaprizov who’s already seemingly having issues committing with the Wild (not that he’s bad attitude etc), idk how the question from KK or his agent of “how are we drafting a goalie to win in 2-4 years from now gonna help us win now with Kaprizov”.

The Wild are in a good spot, idk if they need to overthink it.

No team ever does this. Goalies aren't thought of that much by teans. Especially young G. It's talked about how it's becoming more,,& more rare for teans to select G in 1st round, & how controversial it's become to select G who would be years away

Wild will not trade two 1st round pick to select G of future when other positions are more important. Wild have Kaapo kahkonen, & can always draft one later. Goalies aren't a sure thing

As much as I'd love Wallstedt, if you're making this move into the Top Ten, it had either be for Kent Johnson or Mason McTavish. Not Wallstedt.

Johnson's playmaking skills and abilities are on par with Rossi's. He'll either be a high-end 2C or a winger in the same vein as either Fiala or Elias Lindholm.

McTavish practically screams to be a Sean Couturier clone.

If your goal is to go for a goalie, move Dumba for a center prospect and a mid-round 1st and pick up Sebastian Cossa instead. We keep our 1st's that way.

I'd pass every time on that as SJ, 21 and 25 isn't a good trade for 7th, especially considering the massive drop off after the top 12 or so.

^this^

Without a significant add, there's literally no incentive for San Jose to consider this. At best, 21 and 25 combined only get you to 13 or so without something being added.

Also Parise isn't waiving for Seattle. Much less wild giving up Future draft picks in 2022, or 23, much better draft

You purposely skipped putting 2021 draft picks on purpose. Also wild GM has made it clear with one of the best scout in the game with judd brackett, he isn't trading 1st round picks

yea the value is very fair in this draft but the Wild don't need a future Goalie they already have one, and the sharks desperately need a franchise goalie of the future. sharks say no, unless they feel there is another first round goalie who they like more who is available later in the draft.

another option is the 1st for Kaapo if yo guys aren't sold on him!
