Very compelling. That could make for quite an impact depth scoring-wise for the OIlers. Some serious magic beans, though, to get them both to "waive" for a trade to Edmonton (ie, put Oilers on their 20 team lists). Better hope McDavid and Draisaitl are enough of a draw.

Some have said Johnson doesn't want to play in Canada, but I don't recall him saying that. Now Edmonton wouldn't be a top choice without factoring in McDavid/Draisaitl, but I think Johnson would be happy with going anywhere he's wanted and somewhat competitive now.

Palat only has 1 more year left and may just be interested in staying competitive before hitting free agency. I think working with McDavid/Draisaitl could be of interest to him.

    Would Palat be your preference?

I've imagined teams calling on Killorn . . . with 2 years left and at a better $$ number, he also only needs to submit a 16 team list. He'd be my target. I like his size and versatility, and he's quietly been money these playoffs which I think is BIG for the Oilers going forward.

I'd part with Palat at a discount if needed. I wouldn't trade Killorn unless there was a trade offer that I couldn't say no to.

As you said, he's money in the playoffs. Also, he and Cirelli have been linemates practically Cirelli's entire career, and they make a great PK duo. I'd prefer continuity with those 2 than having Palat continuity with Point & Kucherov.

Nice. Yeah, figure you could pretty much play anyone with Kucherov & Point and they'd do well!

That's the hope. Barre-Boulet would ideally take a cheap 2 year deal and play with them. Ryfors is another potential option.

A lot of AGM's have Tampa packaging one or both those players as sweeteners to take the contracts we're talking about. Do you think they do something else? Can't imagine you want to keep spending draft pucks. (?) Do you figure other teams won't take advantage of Tampa quite as fiercely as the fans on here would like to believe??

Johnson is the real issue. If teams want too much for him we can still buy him out and put together a 22 player roster next season. Worst case for Palat he gets a minimal return. I doubt BriseBois goes deep into what's left of the farm when a buyout is still an option.
