Pretty far off on Strome's value...

And that's roughly the price for a healthy Eichel.... Eichel isn't healthy. Far from it.

If it costs less for Eichel then even better for NYR. I suspect that moving DeAngelo will cost them though rather than being considered an asset...particularly without retaining any of his salary.

I'll admit that I'm limited on my knowledge of Strome. But with the acquisition of Eichel, his job has been lost and his cap hit likely needs to go. He is also likely just a rental wherever he'd get moved being at the end of his contract and both Dermott and Engvall could be retained for quite a while.

What would the return for Strome be?

I wondered if Sabres fans would think it's not enough while others would think it's too much lol. It'll be interesting to see what he actually moves for.

Except nobody is going to trade for Eichel without their medical team reviewing and signing off on it. There isn’t going to be medical discounts, team medical signs off on him he is 100% and the price is what BUF has out there 4 1st rd pieces, team medical doesn’t sign off they don’t trade for him period. But the more things are starting to happen RNH contract, Arvidsson trade, the more I begin to wonder if anybody is going be willing to part with the pieces to add a $10M contract even if it is a 24yr old elite center.

New York already said they're buying out Deangelo this summer. If someone really wants him, they can just wait until after the buyout and sign him as a UFA.

Part of paying so much for Eichel would be to make the buyout someone else's job and someone else's cap hit

Rangers will say too much to everything. They really overrate their young guys on here.

Fortunately Deangelo is almost surely a buyout, which only costs about 300k for the Rangers in cap. So they won't be paying anything to get rid of him nor retaining a thing.

You are correct, acquiring Eichel makes Strome redundant. Over the last 2 seasons Strome has put up more points than guys like Barzal, Tkachuk, Rantanen, Ehlers, Bergeron, etc (he's 28th in the NHL over that span). For a guy like that who plays C and all situations, you can expect to pay a 1st+ as a rental.

Keep dreaming on a 1st+ you wont get a 1st at all. Id imagine i could put up a bunch of points if i was playing with panarin.

Ppl said this about Kevin Hayes too way back when. Also, when Panarin missed time this year Strome performed at a point per game pace. He should fetch a 1st, more if rangers retain half

No I didn’t, you missed the whole point of my post if you think I forgot broke. If you trade for him he is healthy, otherwise you don’t make the trade. Period.
