Flames decline.

You are not getting Big O for that, probably not Coleman either. 2 of the most sought after free agents this year.

Not nearly enough for Hanifin (he's also not available)

Everyone not named McDavid, Crosby and MacKinnon is available. It’s a question of acquisition cost.

If any GM is unwilling to improve their roster, they should be fired.

What does big O go for as a contract. I’ve read he’ll get a similar deal from sports writers (horrible source I know). Everyone describes him as a perfect 3rd pairing D and I don’t know that they get more 2.5M AAV.

Are you thinking $4M?

I’m not sure Hannifin is all that. 1 good season and statistically, Grze is as good if not better than him. DeBrusk is a former 27G scorer who hasn’t taken well to the Boston Media. Change of scenery and he gets back on track.

That trade is more an overpay by Boston than anything.

RNH got just over $5M and plays 1st or 2nd like. How is Coleman, and third liner, going to get more than $4M? He took a $1.7M contract to stay in TBL and win abort her cup. There is no magic bullet next year for Tampa. They aren’t re-signing him. Why wouldn’t he go to the Bruins if they can bring back the core, improve D and he gives them the 3rd line grit and scoring they need.

Bruins should have paid to get him 2 seasons ago instead of courting Palmieri.

RNH and Coleman had almost the same stat line, and Coleman does not get to play with McJesus or Drai. Edmonton wasn’t negotiating against anyone right now and RNH wanted to stay. Almost every team will be in on Coleman. A guy that can play all 3 FW slots, score 20, kill penalties, plays physical. He will get a better offer, not much more in $ 4.5-4.8 maybe but more years.

Must have been hammered when I wrote that. Holy autocorrect mistakes!!!

A better argument for RNH is he got an extra year which brought his salary under the $6M mark.

You’re right that Coleman will be wanted by many teams. He will want to go after another cup though and has shown to take a discount to make that happen. Bruins would have to load up on another RW, bring back Hall and Krejci, add a 1LD before he does it, and only if there is limited cap space remaining.
