Can probably retain a little more on Keith and get protection on the first to Columbus but I could see it. Would Chicago have interest in Caleb Jones or no if they’re getting Seth.

Just to be clear, Edmonton sends a 2nd TO Chicago for the extra year of the 37year-old D-man who has fallen off a cliff statistically? They probably do but man that seems contrary to how those cap dumps are usually done.

What do you think Mikko is? Keith can at least still play and help develop Bouchard. Hawks shouldn't buy him out, but certainly waive him and send him to rockford to back up Soderblum.

Eichel was a pipe dream but that still sucks lol...

Could kill two birds with one stone and take Koskinen back with Keith to back up Lank/Subban

EDIT: Didn't actually look at the team, just the description lol, I see we're on the same page

Fair. I’ve been linking Seth and Chicago based off bowmans comments about a blue liner and getting Caleb is probably a nice bonus way to get him to stay. I proposed a koskinen and Jones deal for Keith with Keith at 50% retained which was rejected. If koskinen was also retained somewhat? Or neal thrown in and can be bought out

I think Kieth for Koskinen+Jones and if the hawks retain at all on Kieth the Oilers are adding a pick

Not that it really matters as I think p you are just picking a decent veteran goalie, Bernier liked it in Detroit and most likely resigns after the expansion draft.
I feel like that second is a bit high even with sending koskinen, unless they were to retain more salary then I could see it making more sense. But also Edmonton right now has nurse, Russell, Jones, Lagesson and broberg. I think if maybe Jones was included in the trade for maybe a forward with some upside could make things really interesting. Strome would be my ideal candidate to go back to Edmonton to play with mcdavid again, but since you have him in the Jones trade maybe a guy like Alex nylander would be of interest to them.
Probably better off not buying out Koskinen since you have the cap space this season just in case you need it next season.
All in all I really like this hawks team, I see them in the playoffs and with Toews and Kane healthy they could easily make a push.

I really don't see the Oilers adding any picks to a Keith deal, unless they are ridding themselves of both Koskinen AND Neal's deal without getting a bad contract in return(Connolly-who is a beauty and hope the Oilers can get him for nothing).. I also don't see the Hawks retaining anything on Keith's deal if they do give up Neal and/ or Koskinen, Oilers have space and would have relief with Klefbom being on LTIR soooo really don't think picks will be involved at all...

Give me Hamilton. I know he has his warts as well, but we could get him for free and he’s a much better player right now and probably going forward, at least in the short term
