Im hoping the Oilers stay clear of Schwartz. He is not even close to the player he used to be. We need legitimate top 6 guys. If he is signed to a 1-2 year deal around $3M AAV to be a third line winger, then there is a conversation to be had. Otherwise he doesn't interest me at all.

Even Gusev seems not ideal for the Oilers.

Don't think any of these moves really address the Oilers glaring needs

If Maroon can pop 27G playing with McDavid it's not too far fetched to expect 30 out of Schwartz even if he's taken a step back. Gusev is a low risk high reward type signing, if he busts then there are options in the system like Benson Lavoie Holloway Marody Maximov to step up

Keith is worth more than Neal on his own, let alone adding another piece.

NMC means he gets to pick his destination which lowers his return value.

He's picked, he wants Pacific Northwest or West Canada, Its up to CHI to decide if a deal is viable to us. We aren't trying to move him, we are respecting his wishes to be closer to family after not seeing them for almost the entirety of last season. If a deal can't be found then he is a welcome addition to our young blue line.

1% WAR on the season, both sides would like a change of scenery.

CHI don't want a change of scenery. We are not solely focused on Analytics. We are rebuilding, he is a great leader on and off the ice. You can spout all the analytics you like however its not going to change our view on the situation nor our value of a truly serviceable NHL defensemen.

Is he overworked, absolutely. Could he be a 2nd or 3rd pair team with less responsibility, absolutely!

You keep saying "We" and "Our" are you employed by the team? How do you know the inner workings of that front office? Clearly there is a lot of media chatter on Keith wanting to move.

Yes I am an ACGM for CHI, it is a "we" and "our" scenario as I operate it autonomously. Keith is likely to move but I'm saying the return won't be that bad. We may have to retain but taking on Neal for Keith isn't on the agenda.
