I don't think Winnipeg would be looking to replace Copp with a winger looking for an even more expensive contract.

Yup. But Eichel isn’t the move. They need Cs that are tough to play shading, versatile players.
They need the right players, not the best players. He’d fill a big hole in NY.

If you want to lose a one sided trade there are a metric ass ton of teams that would take your exceptional top 6 winger for their depth center that there are an endless supply of.

If the Jets were able to re-sign him I think they would. That said, you have his role defined well with Copp's ceiling being 3C or 2LW (as the responsible winger).

I don't think they're pulling a O'Reilly or Cirelli. Get a young guy with leadership capabilities to grow with the kids. Plus he's got off since abilities.

Add a pick or prospect if you're that upset about it. You probably hated the Zibanejad trade, too.
