One sure way to ensure no UFA ever signs in Carolina sign a guy then trade him.

So I doubt this exact scenario would work out, but it would be a way for a team other than Carolina to get Hamilton signed to an 8 year contract.
I would suspect if Columbus were to do it, theyd trade Jones for value, then sign Hamilton for 7 years.

Laine would likely bet on himself by signing his QO at 1yr x $7.5 million and trying to earn a better long term deal after the 21-22 season instead of signing low at 4yr x $6.75 million.

I read some rumors about exactly that, Hamilton will sign in Carolina and than they will trade him because they cant have this caphit. I know is that very rare.

Geekie holds no value for Detroit.

If you swap him for Foegele you may have a deal.
