Out of curiosity, isn't the White contract a burden for the team? I thought the change of scenery could help both teams.

He's at most 1mil overpaid, and he's still a good player despite under-producing, and he's well liked by players and the organization. If he's moved, it's as a positive value piece, because there's no real incentive to move him as a low value/cap dump. The Sens have plenty of room for him long term, especially if the move him to RW (which they definitely should).

What for 1 season of Rielly?? Who is gonna want a big raise after this season..?

McCann, who just turned 25 last month. .75 PPG last season. And back to back 35 point season the previous 2 seasons before last. And he’s still a RFA and under team control.

And the Pens have Dumoulin(29), Pettersson(25), Matheson(27), Riikola(26), and PO-Joseph(22) all at LHD.

Ya, I’d be PO-ed if the Pens made that trade. Rielly can go somewhere else for 1 season b4 he gets overpaid at 6M-8M per on a long term deal

Hextall better hit Burke over the head with the closest object if he even brings up the idea of bringing in Rielly. Letang and Marino got the Point on the 1st and 2nd PP unit too. No room anywhere on the Pens for Rielly.

It’s not about the better player.

That’s not everything in a trade. Contracts have/add value. Or lack of a contract. Or a player like McCann who is cost controlled for atleast the next 2 seasons.

Not very likely at all he gets traded to the Pens with their LHD glut. And like I said, no use for him anywhere. Letang and Marino Point the 1st and 2nd unit PP’s. The Pens would have no use for him.

Yeah I went on 17th avenue and then Core mall and the street behind it with all the patios, it was buzzing
