Nice if focusing on picks, but lacking in some positions.

Wasn't the original ask something along the lines of 4 x 1sts (Or something equal to that?).

Let's play a fun game of "What the player's value in terms of draft picks":

Krebs (1st)
Glass (1st...value may have dropped, but still a very cheap, young roster player with a bunch of years of control left that has plenty of upside)
Tuch (1st+2nd or 3rd, or 1st+decent prospect?)
MAF (I'd say 1st, based on the whole Vezina thing this year, but given the 1 year of control/his age, let's say a 2nd?)
2 x 1st.

So, on the low end, you could peg this deal at five(!!!) 1st round picks, one 2nd, and a 3rd. That's a pretty excessive overpay given the declining market for Eichel right now, even if you're including Tage.

In real life, they're taking Power first and want Eklund if they can get another first. Personally I want Beniers. From what I have read/heard, they value this class.

Hahaha, alright...so, instead of that, we can do the whole "Top 6 winger+top prospect+young roster player with plenty of upside+2 x 1st+1 year of Vezina goalie" instead. Does that seem less insane than the return that's posted above?

With a bad contract and being a rental LD, I can't see the Jets having any interest in Maatta.

No. According to Buffalo fans, the ask was 7 first-round-draft-pick values, but they'll take 6.

Which is why you and I are out of this market.

So, for the record, was the ask for (a) more, or (b) less than four first-round picks?

That wasnt a thing, it was never a thing. It was a garbage internet rumor people latched on too so they could set their Chel gm meter. The value is the value, you get there by addressing Buffalo's needs, no equivalent to 4 1st rounders childish garbage

Says the guy whose last proposal to Las Vegas was for Tuch, Krebs, Glass, the 2021 first (there's at least four first-round-pick values right there, even conservatively), plus Reilly Smith and Ryan Reaves.

It's irrelevant whether the quote of Kevyn Adams is accurate or not. Us SoCal guys evaluate Eichel trades by what the equivalent values are. You can deny all you want that Kevyn Adams ever said that, but the bottom line is that Buffalo proposals are always for more than four first-round-pick values. What I find especially pernicious is your comrades' constant evaluation of a top-10 pick as just another first-rounder (as if Los Angeles would trade #8 for Minnesota's two picks) while pooh-poohing the value of any pick after #16 as "not really a first-round pick." (To be fair, I'm not including you in this group at all.) FYI, I consider a top-10 pick as worth two first-round-pick values and a pick in the 21 to 32 range as a 0.75 first-round-pick value. Nobody in his right mind thinks that Seth Jones and Columbus' two late first-rounders is an equitable trade for Eichel. But you'll be hard-pressed to find any Buffalo ACGM offer for Eichel that is less than 5 first-round-pick values, and I don't think that's coincidental.
