COL gets Saad replacement at 5M per (would be interesting though to play with MacKinnon with their speed) at same cap number and contract length as Girard. Also can now protect Graves in the expansion draft.

LAK gets young but experienced LHD power play QB.

NYR get middle-six LW, some cap space for a yr until Kempe goes RFA, and a decent prospect.

So COL gets an older, worse, more expensive, and less productive player while also moving a more important position (D man) for a less important position (winger). How does this make sense at all

Being a Rangers fan, there’s no way the Rangers trade Kreider, a longtime Ranger, just to get younger. Sure, getting a solid prospect in a deal is good, but the Rangers are done rebuilding. In the 2019-20 season, Kreider resigned with the Rangers right before the trade deadline, and he would’ve been traded if he wanted out. Now that he’s signed for a while, he definitely ain’t leaving the Big Apple anytime soon.
