First off, Calgary is not looking to trade Tkachuk. If team blows them away then maybe otherwise not worth the headache. Flames would take O'Reilly with some salary eaten, your 2021 1st & Neighbours as a starting point. Honestly doesnt make sense for either side to pry next Flames captain from team @ 23.

Calgary won't trade Tkachuk unless extension talks are bad next year and they don't make the playoffs. Tkachuk could sign a one year deal next year and walk after that if he is not happy, however I think Calgary will get him a good center and retool before that happens. Johnny Gaudreau is the most likely Flame dealt this offseason and he doesn't fit in with the Blues style. If the Blues really want Tkachuk they are better off waiting a year and see how things progress

Gaudreau is the flames best player there’s a 1% chance he gets traded, monahan is the most likely player to be traded (I think trading monahan would be stupid because his value is at the lowest it’s ever been)

I was thinking Gaudreau because he plays LW and Tkachuk is a natural LW. Get a better return on Gaudreau as well and I thought there were talks of him not wanting to resign
