He had a solid year. Better than solid actually. Based on this year alone, i definitely think there’s an argument for him being in the top 25 discussion. If he does it again, maybe he rises. That said, I’m always going to be a bit skeptical of someone that had an outlier season in 20-21, just because it was such a weird year. Let’s see him do it again and take another step or two forward before putting him in this discussion.

I watched every single game of the Habs-Vegas series, I just thought Petro was more dangerous and effective in both zones. Nothing on Theodore, he's an incredible player. Petro is just on another level
Hedman’s still number one IMO. He’s been one of the best D in the league this year despite player injured nearly the entire season. Otherwise I agree.

Pietrangelo? He’s good, but he’s no Hedman. Victor has the size the skating, the passing ability, the shot, he’s pretty much the perfect defenseman. When he’s healthy Hedman can dominate the ice on his own. He’s one of a kind, while Pietrangelo is very good, he’s not much different from the other top D out there.

Looks like most of you never watched the Canadian division this year. Nurse was a top all around defensemen this year. Goals, points, minutes played, +/-, all in the top echelon. Most of the defensemen you’re mentioning aren’t in the conversation when you look at the stats.

Yeah and he also played in the north. Using +/- to judge a player also just lost you your credibility.
