Thank you for the effort that it takes to put together a 3 team trade they are a monster. I appreciate the opportunity to comment on the trade.

I think you have fallen into the current trap on this site to absolutely devalue Jack Eichel. I say that not as a criticism it is just fact that a plethora of commenters and trades believe that GM Adams will get hosed by the other experienced GM's and he will take a devalued return just like the Taylor Hall situation. They will point out that Capt. Jack is not healthy (a debatable point), he is forcing Adams to move him, that his game is not Elite but it is 2C at best, et al.

IMO GM Adams does not have to trade Capt. Jack right now he can wait until the trade deadline and a short period before Jack's no movement clause kicks in on his contract. GM Adams will be paraded around Downtown Buffalo with people shouting SHAME, SHAME, SHAME like Cersei's Walk of Atonement in Game of Thrones (that was a fantastic episode IMO.... sorry I digress). You can not really expect GM Adams to accept Pick 20 & Pick 25 in this years draft plus 2 marginal prospects who may end up never making it in the NHL (Bemstrom & Robinson) and a developing D prospect in Peeke.

If GM Adams is giving up the best player in the trade though maybe you think that Capt. Jack is not the best player in the trade (Jones, Jones, Peeke, Bemstrom then Eichs) so 5th best player in the trade.... the Adams has to expect that he should get a couple of top prospects and lottery pick such as CBus #5 Pick in 2021).

CBus gives up the least and picks up the best return. I hope for your sake & CBus fans this deal happens as it would be awesome for CBus!!!

It’s funny you say what you said about Robinson and Bemstrom because they both have already played in the NHL.

I was waiting for that retort....

Bemstrom has struggled considerably. He was very streaky in his first year where he played 56 games going 10 + 10 for 20 points but for long stretches he was MIA and was a complete non factor in the playoffs. Then last year was not a season we can say that he is or is not NHL ready. At best he is a bottom six winger at this point who may develop into a 2nd line winger but I think this is remote. A .33 points per game just does not move the needle.

Eric Robinson has more games played in the NHL and again the best I can say about him is that maybe he will stick as a bottom 6 winger. His 120 games played with a .25 points per game is not going to get anyone excited if it does then you should be a fan of the Buffalo Sabres.

I appreciate that the only thing you garnered from my post was that the two prospects have not played in the NHL. Actually if they had never played in the NHL would have been a better argument that they have potential. Instead they have actually played in the NHL and demonstrated that they are no more than 3rd liners.

Again I ask how does CBus get that type of return by giving up so little?

I can see where you’re coming from that they’re only third line forwards, but they are still relatively young and have lots of room to grow. Plus, it’s safe to say that Buffalo are rebuilding and that they are developing their youth to the max. If they do the same for Robinson and Bemstrom, they can become solid top 6 forwards, which isn’t bad value for an Eichel trade where they’re not the principle part of the deal.
