Hey awesome team. I like the moves that were made. Maybe get Hall for a little less and get some term on his deal would be ideal.
Would love to see Perry on the leafs but I think he found his home in Montreal.
Overall really solid team.

Dubas made a mistake. If Perry still wants to be a Leafs he would be great alongside Spezza.

Doubt it. It’s like if you asked a girl out and she rejects you, then you find a new girl and she loves you and you have a successful relationship together, do you go back to the girl who rejected you?

You get Perry strictly for the playoffs when he turns it up. And you need cheap center depth because the big money should be allocated elsewhere.

The Leafs biggest areas of need, after the departures of Hyman and Andersen, are first line left wing and a second option at goalie.

Perry doesn't turn it up though. He's still horribly sheltered in the playoffs and he was ao bad in the regular season that he was waived. He just isnt good.

Ok. Then you shelter him. He's fourth line depth. He has put up 10 points in 21 games in these playoffs. The Leafs could do a lot worse. I would rather have Perry than Simmonds on that fourth line.

Except that simmonds is decent defensively and you dont need to shelter him as much and even if he is better than simmonds (he isnt) you need to do bettet than either of them. And if you already have one, you dont add the other

I would prefer the Leafs go younger and faster. Both Simmonds and Perry can't keep up. But the difference is that Perry is a playoff performer, getting important goals, while Simmonds didn't even throw a hit in most games. He was useless.

Perry has shown in Dallas and now Montreal that he contributes in the playoffs.
