St louis says no to that trade, you clearly don't have much knowledge on how good Dunn actually is.

well since no teams would give up a first for him at the deadline that says quite a lot

No thanks to Ritchie... his stats are ok but whenever I've watched him he looks terrible. Not a price issue, just don't think he's what the Oilers need.

he's a good asset on almost any PP and when he's on he's like a truck you can't stop him physically, the only problem is he isn't on for half of the games but he isn't useless

St. Louis lose Dunn for nothing in about 2 weeks if he isn't traded. That's an acceptable offer at least.

Heh what? This scenario you describe never happened.

Yeah, I would not be so sure about that. Maybe, but it's certainly no mortal lock.

It's an okay offer, but quite beatable.

Oilers already have a top PP. Could probably re-sign Chiasson for cheap if they want to keep chemistry or promote from within for the net front role.. because, let's be honest, it's McD/Nuge/Drai that make that PP what it is. We already have our physical guy that's either great or invisible in Kassian for the next 3 years and that contract isn't going anywhere, don't need a second one.

Nick Ritchie might be an interesting acquisition for the Oilers. I envision him pushing Devin Shore out of the regular lineup, providing an option to shelter rookies like Tyler Benson and Dylan Holloway, and perhaps helping Kassian get out of his funk. It should be noted that both Kassian and Maroon had good success playing with McDavid, so its not far fetched to think Ritchie could be moved up to the top line whenever it needs a jolt. Having a couple of tough customers to sprinkle through the lineup can be beneficial, and I think Ritchie is an upgrade from Khaira in that respect. All that being stated, Ritchie is not the top-six forward that Edmonton needs and I am not sure Ken Holland would want to give up much to acquire him. I doubt he'd agree to give up two picks, even if one of them is in the 6th round.

I wonder if Ritchie and Kassian might push one another. Both have issues with consistency, but both are huge contributors when they get going in the right direction.
