Correct but that's not the problem.

His signing bonuses are not rebated in a buyout only his salary and his bonuses are 85% of this contract. A buyout will not save a penny (check with the buyout calculator) so he will have to be on the team for the entire contract.

A potential millstone that will be very hard for you to dump on someone else.
