This makes some sense if it’s the right player.

I don’t hate it. Eklund and Guenther, Hughes also would need to be gone though.

Hypothetically, Powers, Beniers, Hughes, Eklund, Guenther, Clarke are the first 6, I think both teams do it. Anything can happen but those 6 are the best 6 in the draft imo. I really like Edvinson though. Think he's exatcly what the hawks need and a perfect partner for Boqvist on the future top pair

I think id much rather move back than take Edvinsson but thats the beauty of the draft!

I'd replace Kalynuk with Mitchell or another prospect because that's a big price to pay to move up 4 spots, Kalynuk had 9 points in 21 games and is better defensively than Boqvist, Beaudin, and Mitchell

In terms of value Boqvist, Mitchell, and Beaudan all are more valuable than Kalynuk. He had a good 20 games but i'm not all in on him being better than any of those 4, let alone all 4 like you are suggesting. I watched every game and though Beaudan was just as good as him when he played. Mitchell was good at the start then hit the rookie slump. I've seen flashes of op pair potential in Boqvist but he just needs to put it all together at once and stay healthy

I didn't say he's better than Boqvist, I said he's better defensively, but I don't think Chicago shouldn't trade Kalynuk since he looked really good, I think there are better options to trade Barratt, Regula, or Entwistle,

that's a decent trade back proposal. I'd rather have a prospect who's on the same timeline as Wiesblatt, Bordeleau, Robins, etc. like Teply, Kaiser, or Vlasic

Just worry that Wallstedt is gone by the time that Ottawa picks which makes the whole thing null and void. For a team that hasn't drafted this high since 2003, you have to assure yourselves that you get an impactful prospect that you really like.

The cost to move down from 7 to 11 would cost more than this package. To move from 20 to 18 in 2013, DW gave up 20th overall and 58th overall. That was just to move up 2 spots much later in the 1st round. By most thought processes and more modern draft pick value charts, it would probably take another late 2nd or early 3rd rounder to make up the difference from 7 to 11 (and likely even more given this draft seems to have a very set top 10 and a bigger than normal fall off of uncertainty after that).
