                Odd compensation. A 1st for Johnson. A 2nd for a worse player, worse contract Johansen. None for Voracek. Some for the #1 LD and #1 goalie. None makes sense...

                Why would the Avs pay a 3rd to get Seattle to pick Graves? Either Graves or Donskoi will probably be the pick anyway. I don't see them giving up anything to get it to go either way.

                I had Devon Toews in the non-protected list, so Colorado pays Seattle to take Graves over Toews. Johnson has a NMC, then they protect Makar and Girard.

                I figure that Tampa would be desperate to shed cap and Seattle takes advantage of that.

                It's already reported that Johnson will waive his NMC, so Toews will be protected.
