Description
I like the idea of insulating the core 4 again this year. I think adjustments could be made to the Leafs depth with a focus on penalty killing, defensive reliability, offensive upside, and a little 'grit'. I know that some of the dollar values and term length may be off, but ideally these are the guys or type of guys I'd like the Leafs to acquire.

I think this roster leads to more flexibility within the line up and could be presented a number of ways. giving Robertson a shot, and having Galchenyuk to fall back on. Also allows opportunity to run 3 solid lines by moving Colton and Foligno on the wing's of the top 2 lines and running a 3rd like of Hall - McCann - Roberston/Galchenyuk/(Spezza?). Little cap room left if trimmed to a 21 or 22 man roster to account for term value being to low for some guys.

Kerfoot trade is to get the 3rd rounder back for Colton offer sheet. The 3rd and 5th is slight comparison to the NSH LA trade, not losing a guy for nothing in Exp Draft. Tampa is cash strapped and he's got some pretty big upside, might work? Is the Pit trade reasonable? Not losing McCann for nothin to Seattle if Pit opts to keep 7 & 3, Rielly extends under Burke when SEA takes one of their Dman, takes over for Letang in the coming years.

I think the Leaf's need to bring in more guys that have won the cup like Bonino, Getzlaf, Perry. We need guys that know how to win.

Respectably have to disagree with you there. Everyone knows how to win: 'score more goals than the other team'. These guys mostly have all won at some point, memorial cups, world juniors or international levels etc. I don't think the sage of experience is what the leafs need right now, not to mention, Getzlaf and Perry won 20 years ago. They're too slow now like Thorton, besides, Spezza and to a lesser extent Simmonds is already here. If there's a chance to bring them in for a coaching/development role I think that's a better fit.

I will say however, goalies that have cup experience and pedigree may be more true to your point. Although, guys like Quick, Crawford, and Fluery are high risk in my opinion. Especially when you consider age and cost.

I disagree there is a huge difference winning in the NHL VS other leagues. Did you hear what Muzzin said after the season?

They NEED guys that are willing to pay the price and KNOW how to do it
