Description

I think one of the biggest problems from an Oilers perspective is the second year of Keith's contract because Nurse, Bear, and Puljujärvi need a new contract. So maybe they both retain some salary here to even it out. Obviously you can play a bit around with the retained salary, but Holland probably has enough money left to sign a few good UFAs (The way I did it here, the Oilers can even get a better/extra forward)

I really hope seattle just takes kieth to be their captain, I don't want to see the kieth oilers trades on here anymore. Hawks fans admittitly over rate him yet oilers fans act like he's the worst player and the league

Tatar was healthy scratched in the playoffs two years in a row, I don't think any team is going to give him that kind of money or term - unless their goal is simply to make the playoffs. Edmonton want's to go deep, Tatar isn't going to support that goal.

That would be the best outcome, but Francis has made it abundantly clear that he's not taking on overpaid players without getting handsomely compensated. The prices for Seattle's cap space are exorbitant.

nothing to do with the player at all and everything to do with the CAP hit. Keith can still be an effective useful player but a cap hit of 5.5 for 2 years doesnt help the oiler move forward to try and become a contender. So it all about the numbers.

I think even 1 million in retention of keith's contract and none on Koskinen would get the deal done.
