Description
Can't wait for Lou to announce right before training camp that Ladd is "Unable to play" and will be put on LTIR. SEA takes Koivula for a 2nd round pick, and I can't do it here but I think Cizikas and Palmieri sign back-loaded deals that pays them a lower cap hit this year so Lou can keep the core together

No idea if this happens, but GAWD that is a stacked offense!

The Blues are pretty deep on the right side. Doubt that Eberle is a fit. Do you have an elite LHD prospect with size that NJ would part with, along with Bellows?

No way St. Louis retains that much salary for that return. I highly doubt they'd be willing to retain any at all, but they would definitely want more then a prospect you don't want, a winger you don't want and a third round pick.

There is also no way to "backload" an NHL contract to reduce the cap hit. Cap hits are calculated by Average Annual Value, meaning no matter what a player makes in a given year, their cap hit stays the same. You can't do it on cap friendly because it's not possible in real life.

Samuel Bolduc or Robin Salo are strong LD prospects, wouldn't call them "elite" though. If the Isles get Tarasenko it would have to be a money in/money out move though

This looks great on paper.
The Blues aren't doing that though with that few of a return with retention
Isles and Lou aren't going into a season with a 20 man roster and no wiggle room in cap.
