Pass from Minnesota. I highly doubt Suter is interested in that, I highly doubt Minnesota is interested in moving Suter, and if the cost to get Kotkaniemi is Boldy, we'll just keep our guy.

Be careful those Bergie biceps are intimidating. Guerin may get spicy with him.

as cool as it would be to reunite suter and weber, suter won't waive for montreal.

on top of that there isn't much difference in value between kk and boldy.

Rangers don’t want to retain salary, though I’d be okay with this offer.

Switch the third to a 4th and then you can sign TDA after the buyout

Kotkaniemi is proven and Boldy isn't Big difference. Also KK is bigger and higher pedigree. Montreal would not make that trade unless incentives are given.

Personally, I think Suter's 4 years are a negative asset. But this is Bergevin afterall. I dont think there's a question that Suter would waive to play with Weber on a 'contender'

Toffoli signed in Mtl because he specifically said he wanted to play with Suzuki after bubble performance. These playoffs will leave a mark with guys that want to win!

If its Bergevin's mind, why didn't he break out the red suit earlier? If he didn't want to dress the same for a potential elimination game as for a clinching game, he could have accessorized to make it notionally different (like use a wide brimmed hat or a santa hat).

kk isn't proven at all. he's still far too inconsistent. kk doesn't use his size, boldy does. pedigree doesn't help kk when he hasn't lived up to his expectations. montreal might not make that trade but im not sure minny does either.

i wouldn't want suter on his contact but id value him the same as weber.

I'd do that as a Wild fan. Suter's game may not have fallen of the cliff yet, but it will happen eventually. He has four years left on the deal, but I'd say maybe one or two of them will be quality years. I don't want us to have another Parise on our hands. He might waive for Montreal, a cup finalist where he has old friends playing.

We also need centers. Kotkaniemi is one, and he is in a desperate need of an organization that trusts him. Giving up Boldy is hard, but we get rid of an awful contract and get help in an area we need help on. Boldy may have a higher ceiling than Kotkaniemi, but KK has a higher floor and he is currently better.

Also Bergevin looks extremely intimidating, so I don't want to upset him by rejecting this trade...

The trade is brutal long term for Montreal. Relying on 1 goal Danault to provide scoring when you have a 6'3" beast in Kotkaniemi with that shot. Boldy who knows. Total unknown, average build. Then 4 years of Suter at that age. Vomit. I would never ever do this trade. Bergevin gonna Bergevin

Suter looked hella old vs Vegas. I thought that fall of his into the post from that goon Reaves was some kind of matrix level event.

depends if you want to go for it now, while price still has some life left, or build for the future. if you want to go for it now it's a huge win for the habs. if you want to bulid for the future than suters cap hit can probably be used better else where but not a huge loss for the habs.

I hope he's fine by next season. If we lose Dumba to Seattle and Suter becomes a grandpa...

The trade also helps Minnesota with expansion. I also strongly disagree about Kotkaniemi not using his body. He led the team in hits in the bubble last year and is slowly learning how to use his size effectively but has had a lot of discipline issues with some bad hits.

Kotkaniemi probably has the best upside on the team outside of Caufield. Boldy is maybe a top5-10 talent on Minnesota. Minnesota would be foolish to rely on Suter not falling apart at that cap hit when they have Fiala and Kaprizov to sign coming up

kk reminds me of marleau. a big guy that uses skill instead of his size. his size would make him more effective but he'll likely have a longer career playing the way he does now.

montreals system is full of depth but shy of high end skill so it wouldn't surprise me that kk is 2nd behind caufield. that's exactly where i would put boldy in montreals system too.

habs and wild are in the same boat with weber/suter. both big money and too many years but still effective players.

I would not want Weber either but this is Bergevin were talking about. Bergie that says Weber is his best move NOT Suzuki or the Danault/Romanov deal from Chicago.

Suter/Weber would be a nightmare. Habs have Guhle, Norlinder, Harris, Struble on defense. They are stacked with high end D prospects.

Absolutely pointless to take on Suter salary unless Bergevin has tunnel vision like you say wants to go all in which is a mistake cause you'll need more scoring than Danault can provide. These trades are my worst case scenario.

Montreal isnt making the post season unless Suzuki stays consistent and Kotkaniemi takes another step forward at 20 years of age.

There is actually 98 percent question. suter has made it clear he's not waiving

Wife is from Minnesota. he's from Wisconsin, & lives on a farm during the summer

Michael Russo who covers wild says the other day, he only sees him waiving for Chicago because him, & his wife wants to stay in midwest
