Not a fan of either team; i don’t think there any chance they trade kot for Kuz even straight up let alone with a 1st kicker

Maybe take out LaPierre and put in Sprong. He is a top 9 player (better in top 6 actually) and can score goals and is just hitting his stride now. Caps in this AGM couldn't really have Sprong on the 4th line...

I can't see montreal trading KK, if anything they try to add to that younger core of "suzuki, caufield, KK, Romanov, Primeau"

really? KK average 25p/82gp the last 2 years and they seem to want to win now...Evans can take over at 3c so they would need a better 1-2 punch thanKK and Suz

Honestly KK Suzuki down the middle is fine, KK has just had awful wingers for most of the season. Like when he had success at the beginning of the year he was playing with Toffoli and Armia. But when you give him Byron/Lehkonen they try to make him like a shut down guy. With 2 top 6 wingers and legit PP time he can easily get 50 pts next year

Kuz has serious character concerns and is 29. KK is 21 and barely scratched the surface of his potential. If they think he’s a total bust already then maybe 1 for 1 but I doubt they add

Kuznetsov for Tarasenko 1 for 1 would be terrible for the capitals.

The character concerns thing is seriously really overblown. Kuznetsov is fine. He’s a top end center.

i think hes going to be a EKK type who excels at being a great 3c shutdown guy but that makes sense if he plays with crappy wingers

what character concerns? are people also just going to ignore that he put up similar numbers to Kucherov while carrying the Capitals to a cup? bc he did coke in 2019 hes same player just got COVID2x and people throw a blanket statement about "character flaws"? Eichel has them also so did ROR Ocheckin had them till he won a cup MAlkin .... lookhard enough everyone has them

But all it takes is for the GM (GMMB) to believe their window is now open, and if it has, why not get an already developed Top 6 center instead of waiting for 1 or 2 or 3 more years for KK to fully arrive?

That's interesting. Oshie's been a more consistent goal scorer, the last four years, putting the puck in the net 91 times to Tarasenko's 73, and Oshie checks more, wins faceoffs, and plays both special teams, but if the Caps think Tarasenko might bounce back playing with Kuznetsov and/or Ovechkin, then maybe that's something where they throw the statistics out the window.

This might be a reach but I think it'd be cool for WSH to find a way to get one of STL's other Russian forwards thrown in on that, so the Caps could run an all-Russian power play unit. Of course Ovechkin plays both units and the other one still gives Backstrom, Wilson, Mantha, and Carlson plenty of ice time, but Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Tarasenko, Orlov and either of those other guys could be really fun to watch, even if WSH has to add someone, too.
