That's interesting. Oshie's been a more consistent goal scorer, the last four years, putting the puck in the net 91 times to Tarasenko's 73, and Oshie checks more, wins faceoffs, and plays both special teams, but if the Caps think Tarasenko might bounce back playing with Kuznetsov and/or Ovechkin, then maybe that's something where they throw the statistics out the window.
This might be a reach but I think it'd be cool for WSH to find a way to get one of STL's other Russian forwards thrown in on that, so the Caps could run an all-Russian power play unit. Of course Ovechkin plays both units and the other one still gives Backstrom, Wilson, Mantha, and Carlson plenty of ice time, but Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Tarasenko, Orlov and either of those other guys could be really fun to watch, even if WSH has to add someone, too.
