Let's try some description on volume 8 of this Leafs re-tool.

Going to have to take a few things into account.
Leafs are probably going to move a few prospects, who, that's up for debate.
Are the Leafs going to move Rielly, only to downgrade on the backend? They value puck movers.
Is Kerfoot more valuable on the team than for a pick or for the cap space?
Where does the backup or 1A goalie come from? Can you go into the season with Andersen again? Is there a better option?
Will the Leafs replace Hyman with speed and scoring or more grit? History tells us it's probably the first one.
The Leafs won't trade Marner. While every other teams fans love to say "Oh he's got a big contract and doesn't perform," he's 24, has been top 10 in scoring the past few years and would instantly make any of the 31 other teams better. I agree he's got to mature and find his game in the important moments. There are very few players I think you'd consider moving him for... not prospects or picks.
