I kind of actually like this for the Rangers (the frame work at least). Maybe add in Montreal's 2nd going to the Rangers and the Rangers 3rd going to Montreal.

Yee it would work really good for both team under the circumstances and its pretty fair. And yes you could add the second of MTL for the Third of New York

Rangers need a more veteran presence. Buch was also on pace to score 72 points this year in a full 82, plays on the first team PP/PK, and adds a bit of sandpaper to the lineup. There is no way that we would give him up for KK AND move back 15 spots in the draft.

Normally when you see armchair GM teams with this many moves they're a mess... but I kind of love this?? The only thing is i am not sure MTL is trading Mysak so fast. Also Weber might still have some years left in him, not that I see him as serviceable on MTL.

this doesn't help the Rangers. year after year Buch has improved and is finally finding himself as a complete top 6 forward.
he is interchangeable in the top 2 lines and plays both PP and PK.
there is enough youth on the team already.

in my opinion, if the Habs want Buch and 15th OV, they need to add more than KK and 30 OV.

The thing is with the core of new york in the next 1-2 they are gonna need a lot of cap space to sign young talent and Buchnevich with the salary that he is gonna ask, will not really fit anymore. So New york trade for another young potential to developpe with the young you already got, and whit is salary can still get some pretty good player for the next 2-3 ont the market or free agency. I hardly see Buch stay in New york in 2-3 and this is a good value for him. But yeah i mean MTL could probably add an other youngers or pick with this.

Yes. But with is injury and 36 years old, we saw a lot of player like Zetterberg, gaborik and other just retired, and personnaly i think it would be the same with weber. But still a decent player we saw it in the playoff.

then they deal with it then, the last thing they need is to trade veteran presence for another kid - they have enough of those.

Oh no this is a mess for sure.

    1. Look at the top pairing D, Neither of them should be on that pairing at best they are 2nd pairing guys.
    2. IF you are getting Killorn then no need for Buch
    3. I don't think moving KK in favor of Patrick is more than a lateral move but either way you go Danault should be moved back to 3C and the kids should be given a chance at this point to take over 2C.
    4. We need more depth than a 21 man roster and NOT Staal, Merrill or Gustafsson lol.
    5. As for the trades Tampa likely accepts that, you overpaid for Risto, the Kracken likely take Chiarot based off his playoffs and everyone else rejects even Montreal on the rest of the deals.

First, you just have to put the petry line, its no biggie, second, You need 2 left handed top 6 player to replace, Drouin and Tatar and they both fit with the scheme. Third i aggree with you but the Nolan move was just because of the KK move, if he doesn't move, Nolan ain't coming to MTL. Fifth, there still 5 millions to signe dethp player to the roster for the season, 1-2 years max contract. Six, Risto is a little overpaid i agree but kulak don't have a spot ont MTL lineup anymore i thinks and it give them a little replacement. And the rest of the deal are cleary not that bad and they seem pretty fair ont the market rigth now.

    1. Edmundson is not top pairing quality either (even though he pretty much played there all season)
    2. Why not just keep Drouin or sign a LW FA instead of trading KK?
    3. There is no need to move KK in the first place especially with the crop of FA LW'ers available
    4. Yes you did leave 5 Mil but you didn't bring in anyone either so it was just a general comment lol
    5. Kulak is a great 7th D guy as he could fill in on either the 2nd or 3rd pairing if injuries occur. Plus instead of Signing Savard just give Fleury a shot and save cap.

This is interesting if the Rangers don’t want to commit to Buchnevich long term

We have the space, cap will be going up sooner than people think and IF needed we could trade Buch or someone else in 2-3-4 years as needed.. we aren’t desperate for an underwhelming 2/3C on a cheap contract(for good reason) just to plan for space in a few years. This just wouldn’t happen

My exact thoughts. Fox + Mika's contracts are coming up next summer, so are they gonna be able to commit to Buch long term this summer? Plus Kotkaniemi is a young center who's already had some NHL success, imagine what he'd be able to do playing next to Panarin or with his old national team teammate Kaapo Kakko.
