The Buffalo trade is solid... I think they ask for another pick with the 1st being so late but it's a solid idea for an offer

I can't see the Avs giving up another first when they are including both Girard and Newhook. If Buffalo can do better than that, then so be it.

I'm not a huge fan of including Girard at all. I think he's really important to the Avs. I also don't like losing Barron, as I think he's going to be very good.. I see how the op tried to soften the blow, and you gotta give to get, but these ones hurt.

The forward group is bananas though. I just wonder if the defense is still good enough. Would personally prefer someone else over Reilly, who I don't think would be as effective behind Makar.

I chose reilly mostly because hes playing top minutes in toronto and can move the puck. Given a little lesser role here in colorado he can probily accel without all the scrutiny and pressure of a top 2. Also toronto because i'd assume kadri would waive to go back there

Trading 2 of your current D and another guy who could turn into a top 4 seems a bit impetuous but I suppose you have to make bold moves to win.

I'd say Colorado adds another 1st and Buffalo could add a sweetener, say a prospect or a 2022 2nd or 3rd.

I'm curious if a Girard for Reinhart swap could work. With maybe like a low end prospect and a cap dump? I was thinking Reinhart for Girard, Compher and Ambrosio?

I can see where you're coming from but i don't think colorado does that. If they decide to move on from girard it is to pretty much get another numebr 1C. I don't think Reinhart puts colorados offense over the top the way eichel would for them to move girard who has become a top puck moving d. Adding a prospect at this time doesn't do much for colorado since they're looking to win now.
