Decent young defensive defensemen. Didn't see much of him in NJ because of Covid, but in the few games he played, he really helped the PK.

A little of an overpayment but Devils have more than enough $

He's also Nico's roommate

i probaby didnt explain it right. 1.125M is the max buriable amount for a contract, so if it doesnt work out, there wont be any cap penelties.

I though it was 1.075? Or did it increase for 21-22?

Siegenthaler may not be ready for a real deal right now, but on the devils with the roles he plays, I think he's worth it. He'll get a lot more minutes with the Devils and will most likely become more than worth his contract once he adapts to his bigger role with the Devils. Good signing!

With the role he plays for the devils (he looked pretty good on the PK), I think this is fair.

Clearly the Devils are relatively high on Siegenthaler. I mean, they did pay a 3rd to get him and signed him for a couple of years, so they definitely see something there.

probably not more than a 3rd pair guy, but this is a fine contract for a decent young 3rd pair LD, and can be buried if he slips. Good signing for the devils

Caps never should’ve re-signed Dillon. We’d be much better off with Siegs on this deal than having Dillon for 4M

Haha only b/c they only have 5 D's under contract. He most likely will be bottom pair to start the season. Expect the Devils to sign a UFA LHD this summer. Even if they don't, Bahl will probably end up ahead of him.

The amount you can bury is the minimum league salary + $375k, so with the min salary rising to 750k this season it's gone up
