Over pay or under pay

Description
Eichel trade I think is pretty spot on - good for both teams

Blues trade might need some additions - maybe an additional 3rd from the Caps - but that can be worked out

This team would be pretty good

That Sabres trade is legitimately the worst one I’ve seen yet. Buffalo gets so boned.

And St. Louis has zero incentive to do that trade. It’s really bad.

Massive, massive underpay for Eichel. Tarasenko isn't worth that much but at half retained he's worth a whole lot more than a 4th liner and a 4th rounder.

Kuznetsov for Eichel would be more appealing for the Sabres. Two cap dumps, they don't want, for a 3rd this year and a 2nd three drafts from now is the rest of the deal.

The StL deal looks pretty light...

lol oh no. Buffalowill 100% want McM

i would shoot for

Kuzy
MCM
Sammy
1st

they can flip Kuzy since he wont waive unless hes moved more than likely to Vegas for Glass + njd 2nd and Fleury

then they flip Fluerywith 50% retained for a 1st or something great

Well yeah obviously you would accept from the caps perspective - you suggested the trades and they’re both awful for the other teams.

The BUF trade is essentially Kuzy for Eichel straight up. The second and third are probably what it would take for a team to take on Hags and kemp to free up cap space. I’m a big fan of Kuzy still and think selling low on him will be a mistake but objectively this is missing a ton for BUF to even come to the table.

The STL trade is almost as bad. You’re essentially trading Tara for a fourth liner and giving them a 4 to retain about half of his salary? Again there’s obviously risk in trading for Tara but that return is an absolute joke.

Massive underpay for both.

I would think eichel would take something like mcmichael, alexeyev, kuzy, vitek, a first, and a second. Buffalo is asking for a lot but Eichel would be ridiculous in DC.

I think tarasenko is an underpay too. I do not see them retaining half of his salary for that.

With that being said, I would love both trades as a caps fan.
