Description
Ladd goes to LTIR because we’re ****ed if he doesn’t.

Isles take a risk trading Beau hoping vlad can bounce back to swap leddy for Dunn.

Might need to up the offer for DeBrusk.

Beauvillier is better than Tarasenko right now. It's a fireable offense to give up Beauvillier in a trade for a washed up Tarasenko.

My logic is
Tarasenko+Dunn+DeBrusk > Leddy+Beau+Eberle

Tarasenko+Dunn+DeBrusk

I think Boston is looking to acquire a top 4 D for DeBrusk and I don't think they'd trade with the isles. Dunn is good, but the reality is the isles forward prospects are awful for the most part, and trading a young winger on a top line trajectory for Tarasenko is extremely reckless.

Tarasenko has 2 even strength goals in his last 24 games and it seems like his shoulder has affected the best part of his game, his shot. This is like trading Barzal for Johnatan toews, it makes no sense.

that's a more realistic return for Tarasenko IMO - put it this way, if he was a UFA right now, I probably wouldn't give him more than 1 year x 4.5-5 mill.

Agreed. Being able to swap him for Eberle makes sense to me. He is a bit younger and I think would fit better with Barzy. Shoulder is a huge concern but if he shows up to camp at even 80% of the player he was he could be a steal.

That’s the kind of risk the islanders need to take to find a real first line winger given their cap issues.

We’re talking about a guy who scored at almost PPG pace and had 5 straight years of 33+ goals. If we get that guy and put him next to Barzy and Lee it could be incredible. Big IF but it’s worth the risk IMO.

It's a huge risk that most likely won't pan because shoulder injuries are a nightmare for hockey players - the velocity and accuracy of his wrist shot is nothing like it once was so I wouldn't expect him to be even 80% of the player he was, more like 50-60% , I can at least understand parting with Eberle to take the risk, but the truth is Eberle does have chemistry with Barzal and he had a much better season than Tarasenko, so that's something else to take into account.

Steven Stamkos was a point per game player last season and I wouldn't give a 2nd rd pick for him with his cap hit and the fact that he produces at a 3rd line rate at even strength. Unfortunately injuries+age take a toll on these players and they can fall off pretty quick.

Well I’m going to try it out on NHL21 and let you know how that goes lol.
