Absolutely. Goalie-wise BriseBois noted Alnefelt and Legace will be with Syracuse and Miftakhov with Orlando. Forwards though will probably see Cajkovic in Orlando for sure. I'll have have to see what the full situation looks like, but I think there may be more.

Sounds good keep us updated

Hypothetically, if BB, Raddysh, Foote, Katchouk, and Colton all took the league minimum, we could field a cap compliant 23 player roster without risking any of them on waivers.

I’m not very happy about this. I wanted to see the young guys play

We still have a third line to discover.

I hope not. I'd get rid of BB and Colton over them.

Why are we signing these old guys to 1M contracts? Should just let the young guys play or give the veterans the minimum

I would rather lose one or two of them, so we could give the others more money and an extra year. Of course with the perry signing there is a very good chance we lose at least one of them

I don't mind what they're being paid, it's the 2 years and blocking the younger players I'm bothered by.

I think BB is gone by default. Between Colton, Stephens, Katchouk, and Raddysh one is going to have to be traded or sent to the AHL on waivers. I think we'll have open competition in the preseason.

What should we do with BB? Does he even have much trade value?

Trade him somewhere for a package similar to Volkov.

Perry & Pierre will likely be scratches the youth will flood the line up.

I suspect Tampa may acquire Andrew Shaw's contract to increase our LTIR% for going over the cap.

This is the last dance for the lightning, I fear that the quality of our depth will not be at cup contention quality after this season.

Maroon's last year, gonna try to get Perry 1 last cup apperance, Palat's last year as a bolt & we may need to trade killorn in the off season for cap relief.

We have our 1st round pick to trade for RHD or center depth at the deadline so we have that trade in our pocket.

This is it. . . ALL IN!

Love the deal for Foote. 2 years at 850k should really help us next year especially

If Colton doesn't take a deal a lot like Foote's in the next few days we might need to trade him. It would suck to lose him for nothing on an OS at about 1.3 and I think there's a chance he wants more than Tampa can give him. The only problem is if we trade him our options at 3C are very slim (Joseph, Stephens, Bellemare, Stamkos). I wonder what his value looks like. I would guess a 3rd

I think a 3rd would be rich. A 4th is the going value I've observed with young players who aren't necessarily standout talents.

As for 3C I've realized we might be overly discounting Stephens' ability. In his 4 games with Syracuse last year he easily drove play as the 1C and scored at a rate of 2p/game. Small sample size, but so was his uneventful showing before Savard sent him to the sidelines for most of the season. He could surprise us this season.

Interesting note, if all of our remaining RFAs are signed, we'll have 52 contracts. 50 NHL contracts are the max.

I just read the CBA FAQ. It might be Finley and Lipanov won't count towards the 50.

Finley and Thompson can slide?. Why not Lipanov?

From the CapFriendly FAQ:
"Total NHL contracts per team = 50 (including two-way contracts and NHL contracts in the minors), players who are meet the following three conditions do not count to this limit: 1. The player is 18 or 19 years of age. 2. Is in a junior or European league, and 3. who have not played 11 NHL games the current season."

I don't know if it has to be all 3 based off how it's worded, but Finley and Thompson will be 19. Lipanov is staying in Russia for the season, but he's a bit older. Might have to do a bit more digging.

The Lightning's CapFriendly page only lists Finley as exempt.
