Both those trades aren't anywhere close to enough to get either guy and Landeskog isn't leaving Col where he plays on what could actually best line in hockey.

Buffalo passes as does Toronto, you're not going to get either player if you don't include some top prospects

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd be all over this, but...

As much as a certain (oddly large) group of Leafs fans want to get rid of Marner, I can't imagine your fan base being happy with that return for a 90+ pt player, plus Holl...As a Leafs fan, there's no way that trade makes you happy, right?

And that Eichel trade would be a hilarious win for the Ducks, which typically means that it's a massive underpay.

I don't *hate* the Heinen trade though.

Would it be a win for the ducks? His neck injury still hasn't been sorted, he could end up in surgery and never be the same, he could rehab and always have it lingering

that return in short is dodo for the leafs

Shattenkirk third pair offense only dman pass
1 year of Rakell who has been falling off pass
Sam Steel who at this point I have no idea what he is. At most 4th line center rn pass with an *
Another 4th liner guy in Jones when we got Engvall, Semyonov, Brooks among others
And a 1st which is top 5 protected yeah no. If the pick was not protected maybe

Despite what people say Marner is a star. Full 82 game season probs gonna reach 100 points for the first time since Gilmour. The points will come in the post season. Just go on a longer run and he will give you more.

I mean, considering the likely cost to move Rico's contract (not that it makes any sense to pay to move him unless you're doing this type of deal), it's basically 3OA for Eichel, which seems like a pretty easy risk to make.

Hahha, which ones and where? I feel like between myself, @salzy, and @oldnyifan, we're probably 3 of the most frequent posters among Ducks-fans, and none of us would ever even dream of that kinda return tears of joy

With Rico, the only way you get anything back is if you retain on him, which, to me, doesn't make much sense unless you're getting overpaid for him, which probably shouldn't make sense to any team making a deal for him. IMO, the place that he's most valuable is actually in Anaheim right now, because he'll provide a solid veteran presense down the middle, to ease the strain on Zegras and eat some of the tougher minutes. If we could just magically shed the contract (Lookin' at you Seattle!), then great, go out and sign another vet to a shorter deal, but if not, just keep him. The contract expires when he's 35, so it's not like it's some ridiculous burden.

I completely agree. I feel like there's more Leafs fans trading Marner away for peanuts than there is other fan bases making bogus offers for him (IMO). This thread was created by a Leafs fan, FYI.

I'm could be going back a year or so lol, I remember Buffalo posts acquiring Rico and peeps just jumping on it claiming he's a 30 goal guy top line C and costs a 1st

As tampa showed trust the process and dont do significant changes to the core. Just continue to tinker

Remember when Tampa got swept and this video came out

2 cups after that lul

Seems oddly familiar to 3 other teams in the NHL who have post season struggles

Success will come it takes time.

HA!

It would never occur to me that Henrique would be worth a first or a second to anyone. I bet that between @Salzy, @Lenny7 and me, at least two of us have said something along the lines of "it wouldn't make sense for us to trade Henrique for the return he would bring because we need him to mentor and protect the young centers we have coming up." The only reason I keep insisting he be included in Eichel trades is to make the money work better for us, and I certainly don't count him towards the four first-round-pick-values I use as a yardstick for Eichel trades.

The only way any sane Ducks fan would think Henrique would score 30 goals is if he played center for Mitch Marner. Or maybe Nikita Kucherov.
