Description
I'll start with the two Seattle deals, very simple. They select kerfoot and use a later pick on mikeyev as a chance for him to play higher up the lineup.

Detroit deals were pretty contentious today, I feel I hit the middle point I know they probably want the 2022 first so I added in hallander for allowing us to move it to 2023 and the returning pick makes up a small bit of difference in the value of that push.

Arizona, I feel like they should of got another prospect but I was working with alot of moving parts so I figured if the move oel they will need a replacement for the year that they could either flip at the deadline or possibly try to extend.

Edmonton really doesn't need an explanation.

Washington, now I had some discussion with a couple caps fans over another similar deal that involved Amirov but as you can see he is allotted to another deal so I used hirvonen (who I actually value higher) but I know everyone may not feel that way so I added another B level prospect in abramov, the picks swaps are what I think the difference between Amirov and hirvonen are.

Finally st Louis, I really didn't base this one on any others I just figured it could work for both sides st Louis gets something for Perron who likely walks at the end of his deal and Dunn is the difference in value.

Remember if you disagree work it out like a civil human being, you all know these are much more respectable offers than what we've seen today (I'm talking to you Detroit fans)

Signings, the only one that really needs to be addressed is Bozak, it's alittle bit on the risky side but I figure we will accrue some cap space by the deadline to pickup another 3c and slot Bozak to the 4th

Wonder what Washington fans think Wilsons value is, its not very high. Hes 1 suspension away from missing 20 games. Hes a 40 point guy, whos intangible is that he hits and is generally a scumbag on the ice (not a bad thing when hes on your team). Vinacek is alright, but the Leafs have an unproven starter in Campbell, yes last year was great and I think he will be the real deal. But if he isnt, Im sure the Leafs want a bit more stability than a guy who has 1 NHL season under his belt

I'm not really all that convinced Oilers would go after/want Engvall. Maybe I don't watch enough leafs hockey, but he's not a standout player at 25 years old.

It was only his first full season in the NHL and he wasn't bad he's just buried on our team he's very quick with good defensive tendencies a 5th rounder is fair 4th is to much.

Interesting enough. Oilers potentially could do it then, but I think they'd look for UFA's or players within their organization to fill that roster spot before giving up any asset for him.

Think Hamilton ends up signing back in Carolina on a similar offer. Doesn’t seem like that big $9M offer is out there and if this is the best he comes back with canes likely match and he stays put.

I agree with that, I just used Edmonton because I saw a couple Edmonton fans trade for him

Wilson was on a 57 point pace this year. He does average about 40 points a year, but he's finally starting to get a little bit of power play time and he's effective there. I think he's valuable, but the Caps do have Oshie, Mantha, and Sprong who can play top six RW spots if necessary, so... if they get a terrific offer they could listen.

I think if the Leafs wanted that, they would just resign Hyman and keep their assets. He does the same thing, gets the same amount of points and would be in the ballpark of 5 million

Hyman isn’t coming back, otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about a Wilson to Toronto trade.

If Toronto wants Wilson, they need to pay actual good assets for him. We have no reason to trade Wilson unless we’re getting value back for him.

Not big on Hirvonen, but he’s not terrible. Probably tops out at a 3rd line center. The issue with this trade is we’re getting more center prospects when we have so many centers in our system. Yeah, guys can be moved to wing, but I would prefer to be receiving guys who have played and thrived on the wing, guys who can score. And that goalie prospect doesn’t seem to be anything interesting.

I don’t know. We really need a big piece coming back and I’m not sure Abramov moves the needle enough. And we’re not sending those picks back if we’re moving Wilson and Vanecek. Again, it’s two guys we do not need to move and can help us compete next year. If we lose Vanecek in expansion, fine. At least we don’t lose anything more than our cheap young backup.

Hyman would be back in a second if he was going to be getting over 5 mill a season like Wilson is. But he wont be (in Toronto), and thats why Wilson makes no sense at that price tag in Toronto

Wilson is better than Hyman. If it doesn’t make sense to add Wilson, leafs fans wouldn’t be trading for him so often. Hyman isn’t getting 5 because he’s not worth that much.

.. the point is that neither of them are worth 5 million....it doesnt make sense to add Wilson as much as it doesnt make sense to sign Hyman for 5 million. Some team is going to pay him that much though

Wilson is worth every penny of the five million. Caps fans are more than happy to keep him for the remainder of the contract. The leafs need a guy like that. If they think they can find someone in free agency better than him, then more power to them. They won’t, though.
