I'd love McDonagh back but we'd be doing Tampa a major favor after fleecing us for him in 2018.

I'd do something centered around McDonagh with a sweetener. Otherwise, good luck with his Full NTC. Short Hangover for them.

What’s the sweetener for you?

1st-round pick?

Cernak + McDonagh for some decent assets?

Deal with Cirelli in a bigger deal?

Not 100% sure but those are a few.

I’d do one with Kakko and Nils involved for Cirelli.

Interesting. Not sure, but at least you’re throwing in some legit assets.

Yeah cheap talent for Tampa who can shelter them as they develop and play and an established center for us whose won and is still young. Might need to send someone like Morgan Barron or Chytil to get it done, but it’s mutually beneficial.

Absolutely not. Kakko is untouchable.

Something along the lines of Cirelli + McDonagh ($11.55M) for Strome(50% retained), 15th pick, Lundkvist, and Kravtsov.

I don’t think anyone is untouchable in the right deal. Plus Cirelli is a top defensive center in the game at 23 already and a multiple time cup winner. That experience is invaluable.

I get that but Kakko shouldn't be moved unless it's for a 1C like Barkov.

No one is moving a 1C for Kakko. While he may good defensively that won’t happen for an elite 1C. No one is dumb enough to do that. There’s only 1 top center option out there and that’s Eichel. Given the injury and cap hit I’m weary of acquiring him. Cirelli is literally perfect for us as he is an elite defensive center who’s got a winning playoff pedigree, only 23 and literally costs less than $5 mil. I’d easily trade Kakko, Nils and Chytil or a 1st for him. He’s a younger version of Bergeron/ Kopitar/ Toews (not saying he’s as good as them, just fits that mold/ type of player).

Cernak is not gonna get dealt. Nor is Cirelli (and by this I mean not 1 chance in hell they both aren't in a Tampa jersey next season). And nor is McDonagh IMO if Tampa wants to go for a three-peat. He was straight up Conn Smythe worthy for his defensive efforts during these last two playoff runs.

Why are you giving Foote away? Don't trade him and don't sign vatanen .

Because Seattle would take him if available. They might still accept the TJ deal but they would def take Foote.

I guess you could. You’re losing Killorn, Palat or Gourde for nothing then. Probably Gourde.

Yeah they get an awesome video montage when Seattle comes to town including him raising the cup twice.
Right now I would rather that than losing Joseph or Foote. Besides they are losing whoever for 20 million cash

Doesn't something have to give? Tampa needs to move out cap.
