I admire your desire to keep the core group together but realistically you need more cap room. Your assumption is that no one gets hurt throughout the year. Given the long grind of the playoffs and this year a really short off-season, you'll have guys who haven't fully recovered from this year, so the chances of injuries are much greater. Now if after opening night, let's say Stamkos goes on LTIR, you're fine, but I assume that this is the line-up that you would expect all year, which is where you would have an issue if a guy is only expected to miss a week or two.
