Forget Tampa fans, Stamkos said as clearly as he could, without directly saying it, he is never waiving his NMC.

Can anyone blame him? He took millions less a year to keep the band together and win. Been there for over a decade and won twice. That’s some loyalty there.

I wouldn’t waive either, regardless of how it effects the team. My mentality would be “I gave you 3 cups, so move everyone else. I’m heading to the beach”

Stamkos had very little to do with Tampa success last 2 years and hadn't really done anything in playoffs in FOUR years. This whole loyalty marketing media scam needs to end ... Belicheck would do the right thing.. see if JBB has the balls .. TEAM is most improtant long term ..

QUESTION .. rank contribution by Tampa player last 2 Cups .. in order.. Vaz Kuch Point Hedmen Mc Donough Killorn Colemen Goodrow Cernek .. Stamkos not in top 9 and I still haven't got to Cirelli or Sergachev .. LOL

Why do people keep posting NMC trades?? Should be self explanatory

Ya I don’t disagree, highly unlikely for sure. That being said if the GM came to you and said we want to move you for good reason and want you to have some say in where you go, will you waive and under what conditions.. outside of stamkos, most would probably come to terms with it and set the terms for the GM. (Marc Staal)

Apples and oranges. Staal would have been bought out. Many have been asked and refused, especially in Champa Bay. Stamkos is a hockey player, not a capologist.

All buyout casualties then get a contract and make more in the long run. Except for ADA realistically. Or that under 26 kid from CLB last year. I’m playing devil’s advocate, but if the GM said we don’t want you here anymore, whether it’s in a negative form or not, you probably wouldn’t feel welcomed anymore. Again, the clause is there for a reason and I get that but it’s also to have full protection as a player, this type of event might lean you towards saying ok but only these 3 teams. But I agree that he wouldn’t waive

Rangers don't need more help on the Wing. They need help at C.

While he may have started out as a C, he hasn't played there as much the last couple years.

Part of that is having Point and Cirelli on the Roster. But part of that are also his recent injury concerns.

Not sure how productive he could be as a 200 ft player down the middle anymore. And at that Cap hit, it's a risky gamble.
