Tarasenko and LeBanc

Description
Does this make sense? Of course not. But it's a trade framework for acquiring either player (very unlikely you're looking for both). Fun to dream about that top six. Trade values probably aren't exact, I definitely recognize that.

D is not great and the goaltending is a mess. But think of all the goals!!!

I've seen some Dunn/rielly swaps and I don't think it makes any sense for STL. The only reason they'd trade Dunn is to get a pick and lose a lesser piece in the expansion draft. Swapping him for rielly would likely force them to protect 4 d-men and then lose a better forward. How about tarasenko at 5.5 mil for Robertson? A bit of a gamble but if his shoulder is good to go it could pay off.

I have seen Blues fans create Rielly trades so naturally assumed there was some interest. Adding in Dunn was for Toronto's sake, I can see why the Blues would be hesitant to include him there.

I don't know if the Leafs would want to move Robertson. Tarasenko carries a lot of risk. It's quite possible over the next two years Robertson scores more goals, and that would be bad. It would really depend on how bad the Leafs want Tarasenko. I'm not sure he's the perfect add for them TBH, just a fun thought.

Yikes. Typo!

I'm sure there's a LeBlanc somewhere and he's probably a swell guy.

I don't think Toronto needs more forwards, they need stronger Dmen; and a better Goaltender. Moving Reilley out isn't a good move for Toronto. He puts up nnumber, and remains in the +. They need to get Dmen who can play the third pair and good forwards to make hits and play the defensive plays. Right now they have almost 40M for just 4 forward players, Getting Tarasenko would put them at close to 50M$ for 5 forwards. The playoffs showed they don't have the lines to stop other team's best plines. Habs were able to pass them and we have no Superstars upfront in the likes of Matthews, Marner, ect. Even with Tavares outs, they still had better chances. You need a few grinders to makes those lines pay. Unfortunately, while Matthews puts up goals, he showed he's not gonna take the hit in the corner when he needs to. They need those types now. Tarasenko would not be a best fit for those reason I feel..

For sure, trading a good prospect for VT is risky but with the retained money I'd bank on him at least being a 5.5m player. Its anyone's guess on what the Blues will get back, such a complicated situation at this point.

I don’t think you would get amirov or Robertson with Tanks current production and shoulder issues.

I think retained you might get a decent haul for him but I’m not sure if dubas would use top prospects to roll the dice. Picks and lesser prospects are all up for grabs.
